DATE: February 26-28, 2016 LOCATION: Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum TIME: Friday 11 am to 5 pm, Saturday & Sunday 10 am to 5 pm ADMISSION: Adult $15, Senior/Student $14, Weekend Pass $25 DETAILS: Whether whittling a branch with a knife or using intricate tools, many Canadians use woodworking as a form of relaxation, with the added bonus of creating something useful and/or beautiful. The Hamilton Wood Show, Canada’s largest consumer woodworking show, celebrates everything to do with wood for hobbyist and professionals. No matter what level of experience or interest in woodworking, visitors to the Hamilton Wood Show can check out the latest hand tools, power tools, design trends, finishes and wood kits. New to this year’s Hamilton Wood Show is the kid’s Make & Take Skateboard Workshops from Motis. With the price of a kit, Motis provides a workshop that lets kids build and create their skateboard using Motis’ tools. Workshops help children develop ‘tactile know-how’, and lets kids prove to themselves that they can do it and help to boost their confidence. Special guest Rob Cosman, “Your Hand Tool Coach,” returns to demonstrate woodworking techniques with hand tools and R & D Bandsaw offers seminars on bandsaw techniques. Visitors to the Hamilton Wood Show can also check out the aircraft exhibits in the Museum at no addition cost. The Canadian Woodcarving Championship runs throughout the three days of the Hamilton Wood Show with professional to novice levels in a variety of categories.
